5 Cheerleaders Die In Crash

That was actually a headline of a news story that I am watching on CNN right now. Who the fuck cares if they were cheerleaders? Five young women are dead in a horrific car accident, what difference does their cheerleader status make? If they'd been on the chess team the headline would NOT read '5 Chess Team Members Killed In Crash', and you know why? Because we don't care about the chess team, we only care about cheerleaders. Sometimes the world I live in irritates me beyond belief.

I was just so irritated...that was the huge headline as they were starting the story, but then not once was anything else mentioned about them being cheerleaders, in fact little else was said about anything they were involved in at school, and it just talked about the accident itself, almost like they had to make people care that five teenagers were dead to begin with.
